Hans took me to a museum located on an island between two huge
dams, which chronicles their building as well as the general history of the
surrounding area, mostly in terms of floods past and other dams in the area.
Outside the museum were a few aquarium tanks. Here's a ray of
some sort.
Flat fish
Tiger shark
Anenome
Woven mats filled with stones, laid down on the sea floor to help
provide a stable surface to build on.
Another type of mat laid on the sea floor.
Wooly mammoth...or maybe it was a mastodon. I don't read
Dutch!
Design of the floodwall at this location.
Model of the area, which has moving dams and can be flooded to show
the history of the area.
A nearby dam of a different design. The Dutch are problem the
best dam engineers in the world!
The museum is found on the small island left of center.
